Composition studies in the
academic writing context are process and product. We as a good teacher have to
observer our students to write English, in a way of writing about what students
write, but also we teach them about how they write English well. There are to make a different between process writing
and product writing. Both of them are very related to each other, it means
process writing give impact to product of writing. If process writing is good,
the product is good. But between process and product, we have to emphasize
process. Why should process? We understood about distinction writing as a way
of knowing (process) and writing as a way of talking (product).
The advantages of process writing
to students; they have steps to make an essay, and knowing what kind of essay
to write. So the students can classify the purpose of each essay. Students need
better strategies for write, so we as a teacher can emphasize process writing,
it is not only check their assignment, but they also understand the important
of process. We must support the students as they struggle through the writing
process.
Process more better than product
for students. But not only process writing that we have to supports the student
in order to the product also successfully. Usually they want to perfect to
writing. It is a good job for them. Sometimes we hope them to product a perfect
writing when they have structure and purpose clearly.
Furthermore we can enter the
students to do process because it is more effective than product. It also give
them a sense of how to craft an introduction, when it comes time to write one.
Finally we may wish to talk to
our students about their writing. They have to do one point; good process
firstly and then product. Process can give a clear way to writing.
